LEAGUEWIDE

ESPN is wrong about what type of NBA content they think Gen Z wants
Oliver Fox, SBNation

“I’m exactly the type of 21-year-old ESPN wants to engage, and even I don’t get why they laid off Zach Lowe.”

An earnest plea from Basketball Intelligence, inspired by this latest atrocity: ESPN keeps shrieking heads “addressing” nonsense nonsensically and lays off one of its best NBA analysts. It is actions like this one that incent us to continue our mission of providing easy access to the best NBA reporting. Our newsletter links to the top NBA stories of the day. We use a “Four I” test: to qualify for linkage, stories must be Intelligent, Informative, Insightful and Interesting. ( look elsewhere for the onanism of GOAT stories and ramblings re trades that can’t possibly happen.) We have bad news and good news. First, the bad: rising production costs have put our ability to continue our more-needed-the-ever mission in jeopardy. The good news: to carry on, we just need a relatively small number of our free subscribers to convert their subscriptions to the paid option. And it would also help if everyone who appreciates our work would spread the word to friends, associates and colleagues about us with an encouragement to choose the paid option (the annual cost computes at less than 14 cents per day!!). Of course we appreciate the interest and loyalty of our free subscribers and hope to be able to continue to serve them in that fashion if they choose to continue that option. Thanks to everyone for your support!
